Yes, round three of the KIJHL playofffs start tonight in the Revelstoke Forum! The hard-hitting, improved Princeton Posse are coming to Revelstoke to take on the Grizzlies tonight and tomorrow night. Congrats to the Grizz for downing the Chase Chiefs in six, hard-fought games. What a series! Coach Mick has the boys finely tuned, pumped, and ready to go.....Game starts at 7 pm. Yeah, Sid the Kid grew up 20 minutes down the road from me in Nova Scotia. Am I proud of this fact? Darn right! I mean, how many of us cried in our beer when the US scored with under 25 seconds to go? I remained stoic and silent; knowing what would happen. Thanks for bringing home the gold boys. For a rather shaky start, our Canadian boys gelled and delivered. Now, someone get the Grizzlies on board....losing their first two at home to Chase....yuck. Come on now Grizz. If you missed the youth line up at the Last Drop this weekend...well, shame on you! I know, the Canada/USA game was on, but still a favorable crowd showed up for the 'SAVE the RAILJAM' fundraiser. The most enjoyable part was seeing the youth have an oppportunity to perform and it was an honor to MC the event on behalf of EZ Rock. With the plethora of talent available, this should almost be a monthly event. Thanks to the Last Drop staff, Tessa Davis of RSS, Trevor Wallach for the PA and stage management, and all the parents and patrons who donated to the cause! EZ Rock and the Last Drop invite you to come out to the ‘SAVE the RAIL JAM' fundraiser in the Last Drop on Sunday, Feb. 21st from 3-6 pm. Take in the best of Revelstoke's youth bands in a fundraising effort to help save the Revy Railjam happening on March 13th. Admission is by donation. Line up is: Leslie Opatril Quartet, RSS Jazz Band, Super Cooper, Straw into Gold, The Blackbirds with EZ Rock's Steve Smith as MC. Proud to be Canadian!
Watching the 2010 Winter Games this weekend was a definite highlight for me! How cool was it to see us wrap up a three-pack of gold, silver and bronze! Mr. Alex Bilodeau was absolutely magnificent on his gold medal run.
