Zoning Amendment

Larry and Joan Dicks' first two readings of their zoning amendment application was passed at Salmon Arm Council.

The applicants want to subdivide their property in the upper Raven subdivision area from one to two lots. Currently the property at 4831 - 20th Street N.E. is zoned R-9/Estate Residential and the request is to put it to R-7/Large Lot Single Family Residential.

Although Council passed first two readings, they put on a restrictive covenant ensuring it cannot be subdivided further.

Councilor Chad Eliason said he was in favour of the restrictive covenant because to do any more subdividing in that area "would be unfair to the neighbourhood."

A public hearing is slated for May 12th concerning this application.
